Even though Roni’s has only been open one year and two months, it reminds me of the neighborhood Pizza/Italian places some of us went to with our families, growing up. The kind of place that, thinking back, you can’t remember it not being there. If they play their cards right, I can see Roni’s becoming such a place.
One of the first things we noticed as soon as we sat down, was how clean Roni’s was. Even spots typically missed by many restaurants were clean; window sills, floors under tables, shelves, ceiling, etc.

Even though this restaurant is named Roni’s Pizza, you’ll notice the words “Italian Restaurant” on their sign (see top photo). They serve quite a variety of Italian and a few Greek items. To see the entire menu, click on this link to Roni’s menu

“Creating my own” Calzone, adding two ingredients to the basic Ricotta and Provolone, cost me $8.00. Delivered to the table sprinkled with Parmesan, this thing was huge! Check out this photo with a fork on the plate for perspective. The 16 oz Mr Pibb ordered with the calzone was $1.50.

The whole Meatball Parmesan Hot Sub (as opposed to half) suited PIC ($6.99) – served with chips. To wash down the sub, PIC ordered a (what he estimated to be about a 10 oz) mug of draft beer for $1.95.
Service was friendly and efficient. Judging by observations on a couple of visits, Roni’s owner seems very involved in every aspect of his operation. A good thing.

Both meals were tasty and filling. In fact, half the calzone went home in a box and was eaten for dinner that night. I’d recommend Roni’s as a place to go for good, honest everyday food at a fair price.
