The Pizza and Rib "Guys"?

Teenage Son has found his “knot spot” at 2 Guys Pizza. We were sharing an order of Garlic Knots ($3.95) while waiting for my sister and her husband to join us for dinner and I have to say, they were pretty darn good.

Although the name is 2 Guys Pizza, the newest owners are a couple who had been Hendersonville area eatery/pub owners prior to purchasing this spot.

We chose to sit inside, but there are two outside seating areas: front and back. I’ve never liked sitting out front (although others don’t seem to mind) because there’s no screening. I feel like I’m parked right there with the cars.

Out back, on the other hand, is wonderful patio seating:

Inside you’ll find a large circular/square bar plunked right in the middle of the one large room, with tables all around the perimeter. The interesting ceiling treatments of wide wood planks and some bordered tiling help create a warm, cozy feel.

Sis and her husband ordered a 12″ Marguerita Pizza ($15.15) topped with garlic, olive oil, fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, fresh basil and Parmesan. Our server did everything right except deliver a “normal crust” Marguerita when it was ordered with a “thin crust”.

We kept the pizza as delivered. It was beautiful: light, fresh and weirdly “refreshing” even though it was hot. It must have been the influence of the fresh tomatoes. Next time, thin crust. Could it taste even lighter?

The 12″ Pesto Chicken Pizza ($16.95) had my name on it. It came with grilled chicken, fresh basil and garlic, topped with Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. Talk about a completely different taste compared to the Marguerita! Fresh and light compared to hearty and very savory. Even though the chicken took a back seat to the pesto, it was delicious.

Teen Son went with a 12″ Pepperoni Pizza ($12.20). You’d think that after having his share of those Garlic Knots, I could have gotten a picture of his pizza before he helped himself. Wrong. His comments were all positive: nice crust, nice cheese, nice pepperoni – leave me alone, I’m eating. Just kidding. He’s really a pretty good dinner companion.

Notes: A. The crusts on these pizzas were light, airy and crisp with a good flavor all their own; B. 2 Guys offers free Wi-Fi; C. As of this writing, an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet (pizza, soup, salad bar) is served Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday) from 11:00AM to 2:30PM.
