Specialty, or gourmet, grocery stores are so much fun to poke around in. I love looking for spices I’ve never heard of, or new sprinkles for cookies. You know my sprinkle supply is low when my daughter breaks up black ghosts to use for coal on snowman cookies. Good idea, but they ended up looking a little evil with up-turned ghost-tail eyes.
My latest “find” is The Gourmet Shop, located in Columbia’s Five Points district. PIC and I had breakfast in their Cafe before walking the aisles. Our choices for breakfast were pretty basic, so no review of the Cafe. It’s loved by locals for breakfast and lunch.
Every square inch of this place is jam-packed with goodies. My favs were the cheese case and baking area. There’s also a huge wine shop in a wing of its own.
