Double R Restaurant Group Opens “Another Broken Egg Café” Raising $4,850 for Three Community Organizations While Introducing A Distinctively Charleston Menu

Double R Restaurant Group of Lafayette, Louisiana is pleased to have brought Another Broken Egg Café (ABEC) to Charleston, the first to open in South Carolina. Located at 99 S. From September 26 – 28, the popular breakfast, lunch and brunch restaurant invited guests to dine at no charge, with donations being accepted for the featured nonprofits. Chief Operating Officer Stuart Ottinger of Double R Restaurant Group and his restaurant team tapped the charities for the opening festivities. In total, $4,850.00 was raised: $900 for Charleston Friends of the Library, $1,150 for Charleston Parks Conservancy and $2,800 for Crisis Ministries

Guests dining at the Charleston restaurant have the option to order from the “Distinctively Charleston” menu, which showcases regional dishes and flavors, and is a brand new addition for ABEC. This is the franchise’s first local, supplemental menu. It features Coastal Grouper,pan roasted vegetable and greens, roasted garlic and caper tartar sauce; Blackened Redfish Benedictatop garlic toasted French bread, spicy Tasso ham, topped with green onions & crawfish etouffe cream sauce; Southern-Style Medallionssavory home-style meatloaf, grilled asparagus and hollandaise, smashed home fries, spicy Sriracha house-made ketchup, and Fried Green Tomato BLTartisan rustic white, panko crusted fried green tomato, twice smoked thick bacon, crisp Romaine lettuce & Mississippi comeback remoulade that can be served with crab cakes.

ABEC is featuring Crab Cakes with champagne vinaigrette tossed salad, blistered grape tomatoes, spicy pecans & Mississippi comeback remoulade. Also featured on the “Distinctively Charleston” menu, Low Country Pastapenne pasta, sautéed shrimp, spicy Tasso ham, portabella mushrooms, green onions & grape tomatoes tossed in white garlic sauce, and Seared Sea Scallops, with smoked Gouda grits, garlic braised spinach topped with tomato-infused hollandaise. The local menu also features three different sides,Gouda Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes and Mac & Five Cheese.

Guests can also enjoy plenty of tempting dishes from ABEC’s main menu that features 90 different choices including six varieties of Eggs Benedict, 11 different omelettes, an exceptional signature Bananas Foster over Belgian waffles, French toast or buttermilk pancakes, along with unique burgers and fresh salads.

Menu prices range on average from $4 to $55 and for breakfast cocktails, don’t miss the Mimosa, Bellini, house-infused Mary or Absolute Fuzzy Navel priced at $5.99 each.
