Remember the stories about the never-before-done research and testing Julia Child and her partners did as they put together their iconic 1961, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”?
Cookbooks come and go, many of them collections from this group or that city, sometimes of dubious accuracy. As a home cook, I need to know I can rely on the recipe I’m following.
For that reason, and because the recipes are from top (and my favorite) B&Bs, restaurants, bakeries, food trucks, and farms, I’m excited about new cookbook, “Farmer & Chef Asheville“.
Authors Debby Maugans and Christine Sykes Lowe included interesting Asheville-specific bits about The Biltmore Estate, Blind Pig Supper Club, Outstanding in the Field dinners, how local chefs cook at home, neighborhood butcher shops, and more.
And It’s full of beautiful photography.
