ASAP Announces Farms on 2016 Farm Tour

Asheville, NC – ASAP’s Farm Tour is fast approaching. On June 25 and 26, the Farm Tour will give participants an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into the operations of family farms across Western North Carolina. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, demonstrations, and hands-on activities at 20 different farms in Buncombe, Madison, McDowell, and Rutherford Counties. A complete list of participating farms is below.

Farm Tour passes are on sale now for $30 at asapconnections.org and at select area businesses and tailgate markets (a list of vendors can be found online). One pass admits an entire carload of visitors to all farms both days. Passes can also be purchased the weekend of the tour from any farm stop for $40. Farm Tour guides are available at several area businesses and online. Tour guides include a map, farm descriptions, driving directions, tour tips, and ways to engage with local food and farms all year long.

For this year’s tour, ASAP is unveiling the Farm Tour Photo Scavenger Hunt for participants to share their tour experience via Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. The scavenger hunt features 26 different items from A to Z for visitors to capture and share throughout the weekend using the hashtag #asapfarmtour. ASAP will select the most fun and creative photos to share on their website, and to use in next year’s tour guide or promotions. More details on the scavenger hunt can be found in the Farm Tour guide or at asapconnections.org.

Those interested in taking the tour can find more information, including what to bring on the Farm Tour and details on volunteering, at asapconnections.org. ASAP will also share event information and stories leading up to the tour on their Facebook page and e-newsletters. E-newsletter sign-ups are available at asapconnections.org.
