Love the title for this new cookbook by Audrey Johns!
Finally she “stopped eating all processed foods, anything with chemicals, preservatives and artificial sweeteners, and increased [her] water intake.” Her answer was to take traditional recipes and remake them with healthier substitute ingredients.
As more and more of her friends and acquaintances asked what her secret to weight loss was, she decided to start a blog, Lose Weight by Eating, in 2012. That led to more success, media appearances, and now her cookbook by the same name as her site, Lose Weight by Eating.
There are lots of recipe photos – always a plus – and a few different (e.g. Happy Kids Menu, Time Crunch Menu) weekly Menu Planners in the back of the cookbook.
I’m a big fan of scones, so anything I can do to make them healthier, I’ll do. There are a couple scone recipes in this cookbook that look tasty, especially the Strawberry Scones with Lime Glaze recipe on page 60 that I’m going to try.
Rather than re-typing the entire recipe here, I’m going to copy/paste an excerpt from a similar online Johns scone recipe. Follow the link for the rest of the story and full recipe.
Elegant Lavender Orange Scones
