By Bunny & Himself ~ We decided recently to try the Flat Rock Wood Room for a late lunch. Pleasantly surprised, but glad we went a bit late. I called ahead to see if they closed after 2:30 pm and was told that they are open all day. Each time we pass, the parking lot is full. Heard from another person that they went but there was a 45 minute wait, so they had not been in yet. If you want to beat the evening rush, try after 7:00 pm. Mama Christina's has been open in Flat Rock (across from the Post Office) about a month now. A few days ago, I was driving by and decided to pop in and check them out. They bill themselves as an Italian Pastry Shoppe and a Wine Shop that also serves ice cream, Italian food, has live music nightly and "Nellos Cabaret" Thursdays through Sundays. Heads-up - lunch at Season's is a deal. People in this area are used to thinking of Season's for special occasions. Imagine my surprise at their lowered prices when lunching there a few weeks ago . The menu is varied and includes some interesting salads, sandwiches and even flat bread pizza. My pick was the La Napolitana ($9.00), their "Classic Lavash" topped with fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula, artichokes and thin slices of Prosciutto, drizzled with an extra virgin olive oil.
