It’s All Relative – Sol Y Luna

Sol Y Luna

I was having one of those days. The kind where I'd agreed to meet a friend for lunch and then went to the wrong restaurant. After a quick call asking her where she was, I headed over to the right restaurant - on the other side of town. Ugh! Luckily it was a perfect day for al fresco dining so we chose a table out on Sol Y Luna's fabulous, tree-shaded, umbrella festooned deck. This is the same Laurel Park space most recently occupied by Ling's Bistro. Just after we sat down, bean dip … [Read more...]

Bunny Likes Ling’s

Chopsticks

Submitted By: Bunny, Guest Blogger After a long day spent at the Garden Jubilee (which was very good) we decided to try Ling's in Laurel Park and enjoyed it very much. There were not a lot of tables filled at 7:00 pm., but as they haven't had a Grand Opening yet, I can understand. I don't know if it was busy earlier. Our Dining experience: A surprise: the rice chips and dipping sauce. … [Read more...]

Meet the Chef – Scott Douglass Adams, Blackwater Grille, Hendersonville

(photo courtesy of NCDA&CS)Normally, my identity is kept a mystery when interviewing chefs for a Meet the Chef feature by using email and the phone. In the case of Scott Douglass Adams, Executive Chef/Owner of Blackwater Grille in the Laurel Park area of Hendersonville, I made an exception.Chef Scott had so much to say, the usual methods wouldn't work. Blackwater Grille, Hendersonville

Update 2/28/09 - Blackwater Grille is CLOSED "You live where? - That's how it usually starts. From there it goes to: "North Carolina? I love the beaches there. You don't live at the beach? Oh, well I really like Raleigh, too. No? Not Raleigh either? Western North Carolina? The mountains? Near Asheville?" Mentioning mountains and Asheville gives people a rough idea of where Hendersonville's located. For fun, I could say I live just about in the middle of the "Southern Appalachian Highlands", a … [Read more...]
