After hiking Linville Falls trails, I happened upon Louises Rock House. I was impressed to find it listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The menu offered a wide variety of selections. I chose the Mountain Trout, Steamed Vegetables and Cole Slaw. Not just Good, It was Spectacular! Then I was offered either Peanut Butter Pie or Coconut Cream. Coconut is my weakness. Since I heard it was home made, I was in. Also Spectacular. Thanks Louise for a Great meal. I bought the homemade blackberry/raspberry jam and will take it back with me to New Orleans. Just one suggestion. Lose the hushpuppies and serve hot homemade breads instead. I will return to try breakfast if not this trip, then my next back to the area.

I have been dining at Ganko Express at various times for about a year. In all honesty the food there is really good. They have great service and extremely good pricing for the quality that is received. If you're looking for a place for you or your family to grab a great meal and a friendly environment, I cannot recommend Ganko Express enough. The owners are extremely friendly and take great care in the preparation of good food. I personally enjoy the big steak and shrimp plate. Take it from one satisfied customer, give it a try, you will be back for more.

I've been reading some of your blog posts and I am appaled to read that you order and drink Beringers White Zinfindel. No respectable food critic/writer would let that poor excuse of a wine touch their lips.

Thanks Rocquie! The food WAS good, although the Pork Tenderloin really should have been more tender. I would definitely go back and give them another chance.

Good article. Great food shots. The food looks tempting to me and I bet you would have had a completely different experience if those men hadn't been there.

No argument from me, Steve! Four of us had dinner at NB Broadway last night. Every dish, as well as the pitcher of red sangria, was perfect!

You gottta try this place. It encompasses all that is Asheville in the culinary line. Again, plan on at least 10 minutes just to read the menu. If you don't......you might order something and then find that you would rather have something else. It is all so very adventurous. Snd the desserts are outrageous.
