Perhaps a better title would be, “Tucked Away in a Back Room”
Bourton on the Water is a lovely spot, sometimes referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds”. This is because a series of arched stone bridges cross the River Windrush as it runs through the village. A paved walkway along the river makes for a nice stroll.
Rose Tree Restaurant sits at the intersection of one of these bridges, overlooking the river and High Street.
We stopped in for lunch and were ushered into a small back room. Some might call it cozy. I call it a small back room.
Our lunches were mediocre in general, with one sandwich falling into the “pretty poor” category (see Gallery). The Cheese Board (plate?) did have quite a bit of cheese on it, though shy on fruit and other items you might expect.
They’ve got location working for them, I’ll give them that.
