Carolina Epicurean had an amazing 2014 and is poised for an even more amazing 2015!
From humble beginnings in 2009, the Carolina Epicurean Small Plate Crawl has grown from the original, thought up between a friend and myself as a way to help Hendersonville, NC restaurants recover from the ’08 market crash, to six confirmed cities across the Carolinas in 2015:
- North Carolina
- Asheville (4th Annual)
- High Country (3rd Annual – Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis)
- South Carolina
- Greenville (2nd Annual)
NEW in 2015
- North Carolina/Tennessee partnership with Susi Gott Séguret! Susi is a gifted Chef, graduate of the Cordon Bleu and the Université de Reims, and a talented musician. She orchestrates the Seasonal School of Culinary Arts (Asheville, Ithaca, Sonoma, Paris), Asheville Wine Experience, and the Asheville Truffle Experience. Susi and I are now planning Small Plate Crawls for Charlotte, NC and the Tri-Cities in Tennessee. Watch for details soon.
- ChekTrek is a fast, fun, and accurate custom web application built for Carolina Epicurean. Crawl participants can now check-in electronically with cell phones and other mobile devices (tablets) at each location, automatically entering prize drawings. ChekTrek will be used for other types of Carolina Epicurean Events and eventually will be available for others to use with their events.
- Asheville Beer Bounce
- The Asheville Beer Bounce was a private Asheville Brewery Crawl organized to beta test ChekTrek. Each stop on the Bounce served 4oz pours of select beers for $2, donating a portion of each sale to local Eblen Charities. Based on feedback from the breweries and “bouncers”, it’s looking like there will be a 1st Annual Asheville Beer Bounce later this year.
