Boy, did we have fun in Halifax! Again, parked the car and walked everywhere. We found a favorite Pub, Coffee Shop, Beer Garden, and place to hang out on the terrific waterfront boardwalk. Loved the adirondack chairs and hammocks.
The Brown Hound Ironstone Public House had so much of the original character, if felt as if we’d stepped back in time.
Halifax was the one place we did a commercial tour, taking in the sights on land and sea from an amphibious Harbour Hopper. We’d done one of these tours eons ago with visiting friends in Seattle. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learned, among other things, about the incredible Halifax Explosion of 1917 that killed nearly 2,000 people, injured 9,000, and caused a tsunami. Damage was equivalent to a small nuclear bomb of today exploding.
