As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to get outside! Don’t go empty handed, though. Go out with a dish of Annie B’s Homemade Ice Cream, some of the most delicious ice cream I’ve had. Even better, take your ice cream across Long Shoals Rd to Lake Julian Park. Maybe after this coming weekend, when hopefully the last freeze of the year happens?
It was a perfect day for hanging out at the park. We chose a picnic table overlooking the lake, near the boat dock. Watching the rented Paddle Boats come and go was fun. You can also rent Jon Boats.

Behind us, the extensive playground was getting a workout. That was also fun to watch. Brings back memories of going to playgrounds with my 30-something kids when they were young.
Savoring every bite, I tried to make my Cherry Amaretto ice cream topped with pieces of Heath Bar last a long time, but it was a lost cause.
Notes:
- Annie B’s parking lot is not huge and it backs up to TC Roberson HS. I got the impression some of the cars in Annie’s lot were there to pick up their kids who walked over from the school, beating the lineup.
